See on vanim tegutsev erakapitalil põhinev raadiojaam Eestis, mille asutaja ja omanik oli AS Trio LSL. Praegu kuulub meediakontsernile Duo Media Networks. Raadio Kuku esimesed saated jõudsid kuulajateni 1992. aasta veebruaris. Täispikka programmi hakati tootma 1. märtsist 1992. Kuku Raadio tunnuslause "Raadio mõtlevale inimesele" tähendab, et raadiosaadete põhiosa moodustavad jutu- ja probleemsaated ning mahukas uudisteprogramm. Kuku Raadio algusaegadest tänini on saatekavas saated "Kukul külas", "Välismääraja", "Keskpäevatund" ja hommikuprogramm (hommikusaate pealkiri on aastate jooksul vahetunud).
